Mechanicsville, VA Resident Selected for IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel

MECHANICSVILLE, VA – March 1, 2005 – Rue & Associates, Inc. today announced Steve Rue, EA, CPCM was recently selected by the Treasury Department to serve on the nationwide Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP). Panel members listen to taxpayers, identify issues and make suggestions for improving IRS service and customer satisfaction.

Steve Rue, a resident of Mechanicsville, VA is one of 103 volunteers selected as a panel member. Steve will represent local taxpayers as well as work on national issues. Steve is a business owner of an accounting consulting firm. Steve expressed the following when asked why he wanted to be a part of TAP: “I look forward to be working with TAP in assisting the IRS to improve taxpayer satisfaction.”

TAP members devote 300 to 500 hours yearly to the panel. Members work with IRS executives on priority topics and also serve as a conduit for grassroots issues between the public and the IRS. Some of the professions represented on the panel include attorneys, retirees, teachers, accountants, professors, retired and active military, small business owners and one former state legislator.
